Women's Basketball Season Opener

Carnesecca Arena was crowded with camouflage as the many members of St. John's ROTC came to watch the Women's Basketball Season Opener against St. Bonaventure on Saturday, November 12. These ROTC members were honored in various regards at the game as St. John's celebrated Military Appreciation Day, including during a special halftime presentation. Being the first St. John's Women's Basketball game of the season, it was also my first to play for with Pep Band, and to watch, so naturally, I was very excited. Although the game ended in a loss to the Bonnies for St. John's with the final score being 64-58, it was riveting to watch, and I enjoyed expressing great pride with my fellow Pep Band members for our school, its sports, and its military program.

The STJ Women's Basketball team honored Military Appreciation Day by making their entrance in army shirts over their uniforms.
