NCAA Men's Soccer Game vs. Brown

Following their BIG EAST Championship win, the St. John's Men's Soccer team made the the NCAA Tournament this year, and we were lucky enough to host the second round game against Brown at our own Belson Stadium on Sunday, November 20, 2011. I was very excited for this game as it provided the chance to watch another soccer game after regular season and to play for the game with the Pep Band. Although only 25 members were allowed to play in the band that night due to NCAA rules, Stephanie and I proudly played our flutes in that group, honored to be a part of such a prominent event. The teams played a tough game, with no goals scored for either side at half time, having fans wondering whether they would relive a game going into overtime with a tied score of 0-0 (The October 4 home game against Brown ended in a 0-0 tie after a double overtime.); however, a goal made by a Brown player in the second half led the Johhnies to lose the game. Although they didn't win this time, STJ fans and Pep Band were so proud of our soccer guys for such an amazing season that brought them this far to play in the NCAA Tournament!
