Throughout the morning on Thursday, November 10, students gathered in Marillac Terrace for the "Have a Heart" event organized by St. John's Campus Ministry. The purpose of this event was to have students paint cheerful scenes and encouraging words onto ceramic hearts, which Campus Ministry volunteers would then give out during a visit to children at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. Although my friend Katie and I arrived too late to make a heart, we found a group of my InterVarsity friends who had, and we then made cards to send comforting words along with our thoughts and prayers.
